How much can be saved on rent or extra charges?
It depends on what your landlord typically charges for pets in your area — it could include:
- Pet deposit
- Pet rent / monthly pet fee
- Cleaning fees, maintenance, additional insurance, etc.

That emotional support animals do not always have the same rights in public spaces as service animals; It will depend on local law or statutes, and many times only trained service animals are guaranteed access. That they must present legitimate documentation: an "ESA letter" or letter from a licensed health professional — a fake "certification" or website that only sells "ESA degrees" will not do. Although the pet fee is waived, the owner is responsible for the damage caused by the animal (as in any home), and the landlord can ask for compensation if damage occurs.
